The bus is a 1985 49 seat Mercedes school bus which was decommissioned in 2011 by a country Victorian transit company and purchased by Jerry in early 2012.
It has since been fully converted into a mobile home with bedroom and ensuite as well as boasting a fully kitted out boardroom with a media and technology hub to impress any enthusiast.
There is a dual monitor boardroom to seat 8 with wireless functionality as well as a reverse cycled cooling/heating system, 3 way hot water, 3 way fridge and fully kitted kitchen all donated by Retreat Caravans based in Melbourne www.retreatcaravans.com.au.
There is an 8000w power inverter supplying 240v power off deep-cycled AGM batteries to the entire fit out as well as a backup 8kVa diesel generator. Solar panels charge the batteries during the day and also has the capacity to plug in to mains when not off-road.
There is a pull out stage as well as a PA system for public forums and an outdoor cinema to showcase daily filming for the ground crew as well as show reel topics to an audience enroute.
The bus started out white with cira 1980’s blue and red strips right around the bus but a joint venture donation by Eastcoast Truck & Bus www.eastcoasttruckbus.com.au and PPG Paints www.ppg.com brought it to its current colour and condition.
