It is very important to understand how this toll actually works. The suicide toll is created by Coroner findings and it is unfortunately very difficult to determine the cause of death in many suspicious cases. It is so difficult that we only have access to statistics as late at 2015 so we use that as a gauge statistically to demonstrate the toll.
3027 people ended their lives in 2015, up 25% in the last 4 years alone and a 10 year high.
Suicide is greatly higher compared to the National Road and Skin Cancer death toll – the figures are staggering.
The purpose of the graphs is to highlight the epidemic proportions Suicide has among our community
